Fuel price and property tax hike: MNM protests against Union Government in Coimbatore

More than a hundred people attended and carried banners and chanted slogans. Auto drivers begged in front of the auto and staged a demonstration to catch the attention of the central government.



Coimbatore: A protest was held on behalf of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) condemning the increase in petrol and diesel prices and the increase in property tax.



Demonstrations are being held yesterday at various places across Tamil Nadu on behalf of the MNM condemning the increase in petrol and diesel gas cylinder prices by the Central Government and the property tax hike by the Tamil Nadu Government.



As part of this, at Red Cross a demonstration was held in Coimbatore district earlier.



Coimbatore Central District Secretary Prabhu, Northern District Secretary Dharmaraj and Western District Secretary SIDCO Siva were present at the protest, which was attended by more than 100 people carrying banners and chanting slogans.



The women's wing of the Coimbatore District MNM also participated. In this, the auto drivers took up begging and staged a demonstration to show that they have been forced to beg.
