Coimbatore Mayor flags off special cleanliness drive in North Zone Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation Mayor, Kalpana Anandakumar flagged off a special cleanliness drive and also inspected the work being done by Corporation sanitary workers in Ward 29, of North Zone in Coimbatore.

The special cleanliness drive is being held at Kattabomman Nagar, Ward No. 29 in North Zone of Coimbatore.



Mayor Kalpana directed the Corporation Health Inspectors to ensure that the vegetation by the roadsides, unwanted plants and herbs that block rainwater drains, stagnant waste and plastics be cleared from the area and to get rid of all the collected wastes with vehicles immediately. She also directed them to recycle the tree waste and use them as manure for the trees.

Mayor Kalpana was accompanied by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara, Deputy Mayor R Vetriselvan, Ward 29 Councillor K Ranganayagi, North Zone President V Kathirvel, North Zone Assistant Commissioner Mohanasundari, Assistant Executive Engineer Senthil Bhaskar, Assistant Town Planning Officer Vimala, Assistant Engineer Ilangovan, Regional Health Officer Radhakrishnan, and Corporation and sanitary workers.
