Traffic police raise awareness among motorists after traffic violations increase in Coimbatore

Coimbatore city traffic police raised awareness among traffic rule violators on Avinashi Road and advised them on the consequences of not abiding by traffic rules.


Coimbatore: Traffic rule violators on Coimbatore Avinashi road were provided awareness by traffic police on consequences of traffic rules violation.

In a bid to ease the heavy traffic congestion caused by motorists indulging in traffic violations in Coimbatore city, the city's traffic police are making the violators sit down under the shade of trees by the roadside and instructing them on the consequences of violating the traffic rules.

Even as traffic congestion in Coimbatore city has increased manifold due to the increasing number of vehicles, motorists are brazenly violating traffic rules and contributing to untoward road accidents. Over 10 motorists were caught on Avinashi Road and made to sit under the shade of a tree near the signal at the Anna Statue signal. The violations were not wearing helmets, stopping the vehicle beyond the white line, not waiting in spite of a red signal, and driving while talking on mobile phones.

The traffic police team patiently advised the violators on traffic rules and the need to strictly adhere to all road rules to avoid unfortunate accidents for others on the road.
