Unemployed engineer dies by suicide in Coimbatore

Frustrated at not getting a job, the Tirupattur-based engineering graduate hanged himself to death at a private residence in Eachanari, in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: A Tirupattur-based engineering graduate hanged himself to death owing to frustration at not securing a job.

He was reportedly staying at a private residence for the past three days in the Eachanari area in Coimbatore. The Podanur police have registered a case to investigate the suicide.

Vijayan hails from Vaniyambadi in Tirupattur district. His son Sudarshan (30) who is an engineering graduate but had been desperately trying to find a job arrived in Coimbatore three days ago in search of a job in a private company. He had been staying at a private residence in the Eachanari area while trying to secure a job in a private company in the city. Frustrated at not being able to find a job, Sudarshan reportedly ended his life by suicide, by hanging himself while he was alone in his room.

Podanur police who rushed to the spot on receiving information recovered his body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. Sudarshan's family in Vaniyambadi were informed, and the Podanur police have registered a case in connection with the suicide to investigate further.
