Help the parents of children with autism: Coimbatore District Collector's appeal in Kaumaram Prashanti Academy

Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran said at an autism awareness program in Coimbatore to help the parents of poor children with autism.

Coimbatore: World Autism Awareness Day is observed annually on April 2.

On this day it is customary to hold awareness programs among the public and students about autism around the world. An awareness program was held on behalf of Kaumaram Prasanthi Special School in Coimbatore.

District Collector Sameeran attended the event which was held at a private hotel on Avinashi Road and started the event by lighting a candle.

It was attended by principals, parents, students and psychologists of special schools and regular schools.

Children with autism regularly performed musical keyboards, songs and music to show that they could achieve.

The District Collector subsequently presented medals and certificates to the students who excelled in various fields.

Following this, District Collector Sameeran spoke on the occasion, “This show is an exemplary show. This is a show that has captured the kids stage. My compliments to all the kids.

The program is an example of how special children can be improved by providing them with proper training. This will be gradually guided by the district administration. It will become a government project.

The Chief Minister and the Health Secretary are supporting the project.

Seek medical attention immediately if younotice any changes in the child's physical, mental, or habitual development.

When there are such children, parents need to develop the mental maturity that your child also has potential. Our community must be supportive of these two steps. It shows the self-confidence that the parents here have achieved in the face.

We need to work together as a team to help other people who are having similar difficulties. You need to help poor parents of children who are similarly affected.”

Deepa Mohan Raj, Founder of Kaumaram Prasanthi Special School, told reporters:

Our special school offers specialized training for children with autism and learning disabilities. Through this awareness program, we have clarified about autism and its training among people from all walks of life.

If a child with autism gets proper training between the ages of 2 and 3, that child will be ready to go to regular school. Our school offers specialized training in yoga, sports, speech, and computer.

At the event, Kaumara Madalayam Seeravai Adheenam Kumaragurupara Swamy, District Disability Welfare Officer Vasantha Ramkumar participated.
