Coimbatore: The next Vice Chancellor for the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been appointed. Dr. V Geethalakshmi will be taking charge as V-C.
Dr. V Geethalakshmi has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi gave the order. She served as the Director of Crop Management at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.
The previous Vice-Chancellor, Kumar's tenure at the TNAU, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore ended on November 15 last year and the Tamil Nadu Government issued orders to constitute a search team to appoint the successor. Dr. V. Kumaresan was appointed as the Nodal Officer.
The office of the search committee was set up at Anna University, Chennai. The notification to apply for the post of Vice-Chancellor was released on the website. The last date to apply was November 30, 2021. In the first phase, 10 persons were shortlisted from more than 45 applications. They were called for a discussion with the search team on February 12. Administrative experience and professors' experience were considered.
