A seven-day NSS Camp is being conducted at the Vedapatti Town Panchayat on behalf of the National Service Scheme of VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science, and on the day four, the NSS team cleared of the thorny weeds on roadsides.
Coimbatore: The NSS team from VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science are participating in a 7-day camp at Vedapatti Town Panchayat at Coimbatore.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) cadets of VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science took on clearing off the thorns and weeds grown on the roadsides, on the fourth day of the 7-day camp organized at Vedapatti Town Panchayat.
A special free eye treatment camp jointly organized by The National Service Scheme and The Eye Foundation was held on Friday, 25th of March, 2022, at the Community Hall at Nambiyazhaganpalayam in Vedapatti Town Panchayat. The camp began at 9 am. On behalf of the hospital, suggestions, assistance, and concessions were given for corneal transplantation, vikrectomy surgery, eye surgery for children, retinopathy surgery, retinopathy, etc. for treatment of the disease and for further medical treatment. More than 130 people participated and benefited.
At around 2 pm, S Rajendran of the NGO Pasumai Desam explained and commented on environmental protection and health care. Adding that the increase in population has caused depletion of natural resources, he questioned why human beings should not work on protecting nature while birds do. He emphasized taking appropriate care of one's health is important.
He mentioned that science is a tree that grew through the seed called spirituality.
Finally, the NSS students cleaned the town panchayat primary school campus at Nambiyazhaganpalayam and created awareness through wall painting.
The importance of education for children was depicted through awareness messages.
