Coimbatore Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar inspects 4 wards in city

The Corporation Mayor, Kalpana Anandakumar on Thursday undertook inspections in 4 wards in Coimbatore including ward 11 in North Zone, where she directed the concerned officers to finish the road extension workers faster and repair the drinking water pipe to regularize the water supply.

Coimbatore Corporation Mayor, Kalpana Anandakumar inspected four wards of the corporation.



She visited ward 11 of North Zone, in SRP Mill area where the water pipeline was broken due to a pit dug for road widening on Sakthi Road.



This caused a disruption in water supply in the areas under ward no. 11. The public complained about this to the Councillor and also demanded the to take steps to resolve the issue.

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, who visited the site of the road widening work, directed the corporation officials to complete the work at the earliest and repair the water supply. Following this, the Mayor also inspected the construction of a 310-meter new tar road at a cost of Rs.10 lakh, based on public demand, at Chidambara Nagar, which had not been laid for 25 years.

She then held inspections at the selected site for the health sub-center at Viswasapura in ward number 4, at a cost of around Rs.70 lakh. Following this, the Mayor inspected the dilapidated compound wall at Sivanandapuram under Ward 21 and directed the officials to repair the compound wall immediately and complete the security arrangements at the earliest after the public complained to the 21st ward member that anti-social activities were taking place at night due to the dilapidated compound wall.
