Ration rice hoarded illegally recovered in Coimbatore, one arrested

The Civil Supplies CID held a raid at the Gandhi Nagar and found ration rice, 5 tonnes hoarded in an auto-rickshaw and pickup van, and arrested a man named Kannan


Coimbatore: The Civil Supplies CID officers arrested a man for hoarding 5 tonnes of Ration rice.

The Civil Supplies CID conducted searches at Gandhinagar in Coimbatore. An auto-rickshaw and a pickup van parked near the house of Kannan, a resident of Vivekananda Road, were found to contain 5 tonnes of ration rice.

It was also found that he had purchased ration rice at an affordable price from the surrounding areas and tried to sell it at a higher price in Kerala.

Following this, the police arrested Kannan and seized 5 tonnes of ration rice.
