Water scarcity in ward 15 in Coimbatore; Councillor facilitates water trucks to meet needs

The locals in ward 15 of Coimbatore corporation have bene facing a scarcity in drinking water and the ward councillor made arrangements to supply water through trucks from Vilankurichi water tank to deal with the scarcity of drinking water.


Coimbatore: The ward 15 councillor, Shanthamani, has made arrangements to supply drinking water to the locals, as there has been a slight scarcity in the area.

The locals in ward 15 of Coimbatore corporation have bene facing a scarcity in drinking water and the ward councillor made arrangements to supply water through trucks from Vilankurichi water tank to control the scarcity of drinking water.

Residents of G.M. Mills main road in Ward No. 15 of Coimbatore Corporation have been alleging that drinking water supply has not been regular in places like Tirupati Nagar and IIT Nagar for the last 15 days. The Indian National Congress (INC) member Shantamani said that the drinking water which was supplied once in eight days in the last season is now being supplied once in 15 days. The Mayor, who inspected the area yesterday, said that one of the six motor used to supply drinking water had broken down, causing water scarcity.

"The motor is getting damaged due to power cuts and we have requested that the replacement motor be kept ready," she added. To meet the needs, the councillor stated that water is being brought through trucks from Vilankurichi water tank to control the scarcity of drinking water.

Shnathamani added that there have been constant complaints from the public about drinking water, as there is a shortage, and she would try to make a clear presentation on this when the council members meet.
