Repairs done, steps taken to supply drinking water regularly in Coimbatore Corporation

The CCMC commissioner has stated that the repairs in Pillur water pipe, the monthly maintenance by the Powerboard at Pillur I, II, and the damages in the power line due to tree fall have been taken care of, and measures to supply drinking water regularly in the corporation areas are implemented.


Coimbatore: Repair works have been completed in Pillur, and the water supply will further be regularized, as per the CCMC Commissioner's statement, in Coimbatore.

Pillur dam is a major source of drinking water for Coimbatore. The monthly maintenance work carried out by the Electricity Board at the refinery under Pillur-I, Il project, the damage caused due to a tree falling on the electricity post, and the Pillur dam main pipeline break during the construction of a gas pipeline in Chinniyampalayam area, which disrupted water supply for five days, has now been resolved.

The water supply in Maniyakarampalayam was at an interval of 14 days, Nanjundapuram 13 days, 12 days once in Tatabad, Gandhipuram, 13 in Singanallur,

Ondipudur, Peelamedu 13 days, Gandhi park, Selvapuram 12 days, Thudiyalur 12 days, Kurichi 11 days, Townhall, Ramanathapuram 10 days, Koundampalayam 10 days, Vadavalli and Veerakeralam 12 days, due to above reasons.

Municipal Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara has now stated that the repairs have been done and steps have been taken to provide regular drinking water supply.
