Venu Srinivasan, the Chairman of TVS Group, was conferred the Dr. N Mahalingam Award 2022, for his peerless contribution in the fields of research, industry, and social upliftment.
Coimbatore: The Chairman of TVS Group, Venu Srinivasan was awarded the Dr. N Mahalingam Award 2022, by the Kumaraguru institutions, in the centenary celebrations, on Monday, 21 March 2022.
Stating that he was honoured to receive the Dr N Mahalingam Award, in the 100th Year of celebration at the Kumaraguru Institutions, Venu Srinivasan, the TVS Group Chairman, stated that Arutchelvar Mahalingam was a man of elegance, modesty, and easy to socialize with.
Born on March 21, 1923, a prominent industrialist and public servant of Tamil Nadu, the late industrialist Pollachi Mahalingam's centenary celebrations were held at the Kumaraguru Institutions on Monday, 21st March 2022. On the occasion of the centenary celebrations, the 'Arutchelvar Mahalingam' Award 2022 ceremony was held at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. The centenary celebrations are being held from March 17.
As part of the celebrations, arts, literature and sports competitions were held in the college for two days. As a major event, the Arutchelvar Mahalingam Award which is held annually was held this year as well to honour those who have been an integral contributor to the development of society, industry, art, and culture.
Venu Srinivasan, Founder Chairman of TVS Group, was honoured with the Dr. N. Mahalingam Award 2022 for his contribution to the field of industry, research, and social development.
Venu Srinivasan, founder chairman of TVS Group, who received the award, said, "I am happy to receive the Arutchelvar Mahalingam Award at his centenary celebrations. People like him are rare. He was a very simple man, sweet to socialize with, and very fond of spirituality."
Adding that students are our future, Venu Srinivasan said that apart from getting degrees, students should continue to read and learn many things and remember their teachers.
On this occasion, Kumaraguru Research and Innovation Alliance (KRIA) established a research centre at a cost of Rs.10 crore to initiate social change and innovation. It will work with the participation of entrepreneurs, educational institutions, investors, researchers, and students.
The focus will be on the environment, livelihood, and socio-economic development.
Dr. P.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, President, Kumaraguru Educational Institutions presided over the function held.
Vijay Mohan, the founder of Pricol and Ramasamy, Chairman, Root's Group, graced the occasion.
