TN Budget 2022; COTMA delighted at funds allocated for MSMEs; requests for Industrial estates

The Tamil Nadu Budget for 2022-23 was presented by the Finance Minister for the State, Palanivel Thiyagarajan, on 18th March 2022, and the COTMA has thanked the CM and Finance Minister for allocating funds for MSMEs.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Tirupur District Micro and Cottage Entrepreneurs Association, COTMA has stated that the funds allocated for MSMEs development will help the growth of the Industry.

The Budget for the financial year 2022-23 was presented by the Finance Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. P.T.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The Budget stated,

1. A sum of Rs.300 crore will be given as capital subsidy to micro and small entrepreneurs and 100 crores will be provided for loan guarantee scheme.

2. A grant of Rs.911.5 crore will be provided for micro, small and medium enterprises development and 3261.91 crores will be allocated to the industry.

3. Industrial parks will be set up in districts including Coimbatore on behalf of the government of Tamil Nadu. and

4. Allocation of Rs 2517 crore for the development of vocational institutions in Tamil Nadu.

The above points were highlighted by the COTMA, stating that these funds will help in the sector's development, and also urged that steps be taken to set up industrial estates expeditiously.
