Coimbatore:The construction of bus stand is underway at ward 10 in Coimbatore Corporation at an estimate of Rs 80,000.
A bus shelter, at an estimate of Rs 80,000, is under construction at ward 10 of Coimbatore Corporation, overseen by the councillor Kathirvel. The works began 4 days ago after obtaining permission from the corporation . The project is funded from the councilor's pocket and the a part of the funds were collected from different sources. The works will be completed in another three to four days.
With the onset of summer, water pipelines have been laid at an estimate of Rs 1,50,000 at Gounder Nagar Vijayalakshmi Nagar Poonthottam Nagar Victory Nagar areas for uninterrupted water supply and there has been a long demand for roads.
The councillor added that talks were held with the Education Minister for the locals' demand for a higher secondary school and the construction will commence soon and action would be taken soon to bring all sewers in the area under an underground sewerage scheme.
