Coimbatore: The TASMAC employees have been agitating stating that the Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji’s say in the job place rotation of the TASMAC employees is unacceptable.
The TASMAC Employees Association have been staging protest in front of the South Tahsildar’s office.
The employees demanded that Minister Senthil Balaji should not be involved in the transfer of TASMAC employees. They made various demands, including proper rotation altogether for TASMAC employees who have been working in the system for many years.
The association admins who addressed amid the protest stated that the TASMAC Employees Federation has consistently insisted on shifting of jobs to the native places for the employees who have been working in TASMAC liquor retail stores for the past 18 years.
“In the last regime, the newly appointed Minister after the change of government had voluntarily given more than 100 shifts without making a formal change of post. We have been alleging that there have been money exchanges.”
They added that the employees in particular are applying for a change of job due to family environment, health hazards etc. and stated that it is not acceptable to make a voluntary change of job without considering these applications.
“The changes to the workplace which have been improperly made should be cancelled. Similarly, we are protesting in all district headquarters demanding implementation of rotational workplace changes.”
The agitators said that as soon as the new government was formed, especially the present Minister of the department, had not accepted their demands and the bar owners have been storming the Minister's house in protest, even as the minister says there is no irregularities in the Wineries Agreement. They demanded that there should be no wineries, and if this government is concerned about reducing the number of drinkers, the wineries should be removed.
