The Mayor Kalpana initiated the postal department’s savings scheme, ‘Selva Magal Semippu Thittam’ at the Corporation School in Masakkalipalayam, for girls below 10 years, as part of the Women’s Day week-long celebration.
Coimbatore: Mayor Kalpana inaugurated the postal department’s savings scheme, ‘Selva Magal Semippu Thittam’ at the Corporation School in Masakkalipalayam on Thursday, 10th March.
Special programs are being held at various places throughout the week in Coimbatore on the occasion of World Women's Day.
As a part of this, bank savings accounts were opened on behalf of the Postal Department, and a passbook was issued to the girls below 10 years of age at Masakalipalayam Corporation Government School, Coimbatore.
The Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar participated in the function and presented the passbook to 35 girls.
Corporation Commissioner Rajagopal Sunkara, Deputy Mayor Vetriselvan, and ward member Mohan were also present on the occasion.
