Women’s Day celebrated in Tirupur; loan sanction orders, cheques worth Rs.90 lakhs distributed to women

The Tirupur District Collector Dr S Vineeth distributed cheques, loan sanction orders worth Rs.90.8 lakhs to women at the Women’s Day Celebrations held at the District Collectorate.



Tirupur: The International Women’s Day was celebrated at the Tirupur District Collectorate on Tuesday, 8th March.

The Tirupur District Collector Dr S Vineeth distributed cheques, loan sanction orders worth Rs.90.8 lakhs to women at the Women’s Day Celebrations held at the District Collectorate.



In the ceremony held on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Government has sanctioned Rs.90.80 lakhs loan. Dr S Vineeth, Tirupur Collector issued the cheques and the sanction orders.



Speaking on the occasion yesterday, Dr Vineeth stated that a government subsidized loan assistance camp for women that was held on World Women's Day' function held at Tirupur District Collectorate.

“Under Pradhan Mantri Self Employment (Stand Up Yojana), 1 woman will get Rs.6.25 lakhs with an investment of Rs.25.00 lakhs and 6 Women Help Groups will get Rs.49.00 lakhs.



The Panchayat Level Federation will be provided Rs.11.30 lakhs, Education loans of Rs.2.50 lakhs will be provided and under the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Scheme, Rs.3 lakhs were provided to three groups, at the rate of 1 lakh per group was also provided.”



Further, under the scheme, the women who finished their training in the Canara bank self-employment training, were issued certificates. He then stated that measures has to be taken to provide the Government subsidy, bank loan assistance schemes for women and the Prime minister's personal insurance scheme for the public.

Velampalayam Indian Overseas Bank, Canara Bank Principal Managers at Vellakovil and founder of The Eyelids Foundation were present on the occasion.
