Fault in E Voting machine delays polling in ward 42 in Tirupur

The voting for urban local body elections in Tirupur, ward number 42 started a little late after the E Voting machine displayed an error, and it was replaced.


Tirupur: The Electronic Voting machine at the 42nd ward polling station displayed a fault leading to a delay in starting polls.



With local body elections being held in a single phase across Tamil Nadu today, 19th February, people gathered and waited in long queues at their respective polling booths to cast their votes since morning.

There was a delay however in the commencement of polling at the 42nd ward, 406th polling booth at the Parpalayam Municipal Middle School in Tirupur due to an error in the EVM.



The polling has been prolonged as a new machine was brought in and the installation is in progress.
