Ex Minister SP Velumani demands eviction of out-district people from Coimbatore

The Former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani has demanded that the Election officers immediately evict the other district people staying in Coimbatore in areas including Vadavalli, Kalapatti.



Coimbatore: Ex Minister SP Velumani has demanded immediate eviction of out-district people from Coimbatore.

Calling them a threat to harmony, the former AIADMK Minister stated that there are still people from other districts staying in Coimbatore, in areas including Vadavalli, Kalapatti. He wanted the election officers to intervene and evict them as soon as possible.

In order to disturb the peace, out-of-district persons belonging to the ruling party staying in Coimbatore Vadavalli, Kalapatti etc. should be expelled the former minister S.P. Velumani said.



The AIADMK Former minister S P Velumani cast his vote at the government high school in Sugunapuram on 19th February, today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said, "We have given a huge development to Coimbatore district in the last regime. Thus, the people of Coimbatore district will vote for AIADMK.”

Recollecting the party’s victory in Coimbatore in the assembly elections, he stated that the ruling party has been committing violations to somehow grab a win this time. He called the police department their accomplice and that there are people of other districts still staying in Vadavalli, Kalapatti areas, and wanted the authorities to take steps to evict them to conduct a peaceful elections. The AIADMK will definitely take over the post of mayor in Coimbatore, he said, adding that the Collector should have taken steps to evict the outlying district persons. But the announcement was made only yesterday, he pointed out.

He said the other district people were still in Coimbatore and would plot to win the elections. Mentioning the court’s statement on taking action against any violations, he said the statement has been made because the authorities have been directed to declare DMK victorious even if the AIADMK wins.
