The public who had arrived from other districts to cast their votes in their hometowns agitated stating not enough bus facilities have been arranged to reach Valparai from Pollachi, making them unable to vote.

Commuters from other districts blocked roads to protest against inadequate buses from Pollachi to Valparai. The urban local body elections are being held from 7 pm on Saturday.
People from Valparai to various places including Coimbatore and Tirupur thronged the Pollachi bus stand to go to Valparai to cast their votes.
Over 300 passengers blocked the road on Palakkad Road in front of Pollachi new bus stand after waiting for a long time as there were no enough buses to transport them. The road blockade was later called off after police arrived there, negotiated with the agitating passengers and assured them that action would be taken to operate the buses. Traffic on Pollachi Palakkad Road was disrupted for about half an hour due to picketing.
