'Funds provided by Central Govt. for Smart City has not been used properly for 8 years:' BJP State President, Annamalai

BJP State President Annamalai alleged that the funds provided by the Central Government for the Smart City had not been used properly for 8 years.

Coimbatore: In BJP's final campaign, BJP State President Annamalai has said that the funds provided by the Central Government for the Smart City have not been used properly for eight years during the final campaign of the urban local body elections at Masakalipalayam, in Coimbatore.

"There is fierce competition between the three major parties in this election. It was Prime Minister Modi who changed the course of Indian politics which had become dynasty politics. It has been eight years since the Smart City project was handed to Coimbatore and Coimbatore has not yet become a Smart City. In fact, it seems to be going backward every day. The contractors here have swallowed up federal funds," alleged Annamalai.

He also said that the water level of Siruvani Dam was declining. "Flyovers have been set up in the name of development and roads have been repaired. Some of the DMK members themselves had informed me that the anklets were bought in Hyderabad and the hot boxes from Delhi. Also, unnecessarily a giant has arisen in NEET. The BJP has to win if all this is to change. I am confident that people would vote for BJP and enable us to win," added Annamalai.

When questioned about the gifts that the BJP candidate in Karumathampatti had allegedly distributed to voters, Annamalai retorted, "The DMK is distributing hot boxes all across Tamil Nadu. The Election Commission should conduct itself in a fair and honest manner."
