Additional buses will be operated from Coimbatore to outstations for elections

A state transport official stated that additional buses will be operated from Coimbatore to other districts from 18th to 20th February, a special arrangement ahead of the election.


Coimbatore: Additional buses will be operated from Coimbatore to outstations for three days ahead of the elections.

A Coimbatore State Transport Corporation official said that additional buses would be operated from the Coimbatore division to Tirupur, Erode, Trichy, and Madurai districts on the eve of the urban local body elections.

The urban local body elections in Tamil Nadu will be held on the 19th. Local body elections are being held for one Corporation, 7 Municipalities, and 33 Town Panchayats in Coimbatore. In order to achieve 100 percent voting, arrangements have been made to ensure that the people, staying in other districts for work shall arrive for voting.

Following this, the authorities are planning to operate additional buses from the Coimbatore division on 18th, 19th, and 20th of February. A Coimbatore State Transport Corporation official said, "In addition to the existing buses from Coimbatore to Tirupur, Karur, Erode, Madurai, and Trichy, we are planning to operate 50 buses per district in the first phase. Additional buses will be operated depending on the demand from passengers."
