SP Velumani case; Anti-Corruption Court orders to freeze Ex-Minister’s close associates deposits valued at ₹ 110 crores

The Special Anti-Corruption Court has issued orders to freeze the deposit of ₹ 110 crores, upon suspicions of improper accumulation of assets, in the case filed by DMK on former AIADMK Minister SP Velumani



Coimbatore: The anti-corruption court has given the verdict to freeze ex-Minister SP Velumani’s close associates deposits in private companies, including KCP, Alam Gold, and Diamond, worth ₹ 110 crores.

Based on the report lodged by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on former Minister of AIADMK, SP Velumani, and continuous accusation on him of excess, irregular accumulation of assets, income, the anti-corruption police raided more than 47 places in Tamil Nadu owned by him as soon as they assumed power.

Several documents and materials were seized and the Ex-Minister is under interrogation for several months.

An order has now been issued by the Anti-Corruption Court on Monday to freeze the permanent deposits of the former minister’s close associates involved in private companies including the KCP, Alam Gold, and Diamonds as they suspect that the permanent deposit fund was saved from his improper accumulation of property.

An amount of ₹ 110 crores has been frozen based on the order.
