The Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai campaigned for the BJP candidate Unnamalai, contesting in the urban local body elections, during which he termed DMK ministers corrupt.

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu BJP President, Annamalai, campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Unnamalai, contesting in the local polls, here on Sunday.

“Communism is a sour ideology that is already dead.” stated K Annamalai, the Bharatiya Janata Party State President, during his campaign for the fellow party candidate, contesting in the urban local body elections. Unnamalai will be contesting in the local polls on behalf of BJP and a campaign was held on Sunday. He alleged that the promises of DMK were merely on papers and nothing in action. He stated that, the public thus, should not vote for DMK and elect Unnamalai in the forthcoming local body elections.

During the campaign, Annamalai stated that, the public should vote, for the one who would be at their doorsteps in case of any issue and stated that DMK’s regime in the eight months since assuming office has been a demonstration of how bad governance. He stated that the Covid19 vaccinations were given to Coimbatore, a month after assuming office by the ruling party, after BJP held protests against this.

Adding that there is no other form of corruption left for Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, he criticized the quality of the products given in the TN Government’s Pongal gift package. The turmeric, jaggery, pepper, were of substandard quality and said that people carried not bags but buckets to fetch jaggery.

“The bag bought for Pongal package costs Rs.60, which is much costlier than the items inside”, stated Annamalai. The BJP leader came down heavily on the Chief Minister for campaigning online and not in person.

He stated that CM Stalin has been escaping from in-person campaign because the public would question him about the Rs1,000, promised in the assembly election campaign. Not even 7 out of the 517 promises made have been fulfilled and stated that Karur DMK will arrive to solve problems of Coimbatore, as the district party men are not trustworthy.

Alleging that DMK eyes to win in some random manner in Coimbatore and the BJP leader said that DMK has no social justice. Adding that the communist ideology has become sour, and is dead, he stated that Coimbatore should be refurbished into the mini Japan, it was called twenty years back.

Calling the DMK party and its ministers corrupt, he stated that a list can be produced about DMK Ministers on corruption. He then highlighted the contributions of the candidate to the public such as a CCTV camera at own cost of Rs 2 lakh, medicines at a low price and food for 60 days in the first wave of corona. He said that it was BJP who changed the image that only the well-to-do can aspire to become doctors, by bringing in NEET.

“The daughters of wage labourers and farmers get medicine seats through NEET and study medicine.” He finally said that Coimbatore is a BJP-backed area, where nationalism is high and demanded that public vote for Unnamalai.
