AIADMK coordinator, O Pannerselvam glorifies contributions of Jayalalithaa, MGR; attends candidate introduction meeting in Tirupur

The AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam highlighting the regime of Jayalalithaa and MGR, alleged that the DMK has not fulfilled the promises made while campaigning for assembly elections.


Tirupur: AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam attended the meeting held in Tirupur in which he introduced the party candidates who are contesting on behalf of the party for the local body elections.

Addressing at the meeting, OPS highlighted the contributions and achievements of former chief ministers, J Jayalalithaa and MG Ramachandran.



AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam speaking at the party function in Tirupur glorified Ex CMs, MGR, and Jayalalithaa as givers, not takers, and stated that DMK was accustomed to only taking from the people. A total of 407 candidates are contesting for AIADMK in the local bodies in the corporation, municipal and town panchayat areas. A meeting was held in Tirupur on Monday to introduce them and advise the party men.



Speaking at the party meeting, O Panneerselvam stated that the former leaders of the party has built an unbreakable team and that after Jayalalithaa, Edappadi Palaniswami took over the government to handle and implement all the schemes without any imperfection, carrying the legacies of the former chiefs.

He said “Jayalalithaa was the only leader who fulfilled all the promises made. The schemes executed for Tirupur, including the drinking water schemes, medical college, and underground sewerage scheme were all implemented successfully.”



He pressed that the AIADMK government well served the public during the pandemic and added that, leaders like MG Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa were givers and not takers. He criticized the DMK for ‘taking’ from the people. He said that AIADMK was all set to form the government for the third time in the assembly elections.

Adding that the promises of banning NEET, providing Rs.1,000 per month, increase the number of days of work for a 100-day system to 150 remain unfulfilled, he stated that DMK has deceived the public. He also criticized the Pongal hampers provided, and the quality of the 21 items, especially the rice provided in the package. He came down heavily on CM Stalin for not providing Pongal assistance and demanded that the government should pay Rs.5,000 to the people, and informed that the AIADMK provided Rs.2,500.

“It dawns every morning, but the people never get one” stated the coordinator at the meeting.
