Coimbatore: AIADMK’s Mayor candidate has filed her nominations for the urban local body elections. The local body elections will be held in Coimbatore on 19th of February and across TN in a single phase.
The election nominations filing began on the 28th of January, and the processes are gearing up as 4th of February, tomorrow is the last day for filing the nomination papers.
Since morning, AIADMK and DMK candidates have been filing nomination papers at offices in all regions of Coimbatore. It may be noted that none of the candidates from the major political parties filed nomination papers in the municipal regional offices for the first two days since 28th.
With tomorrow being the last day to file nominations, political party candidates and independent candidates are invading the offices where nomination papers are being filed.
Accordingly, Chandrashekhar's wife Sharmila, a close friend of the former AIADMK minister, filed her nomination papers on Thursday to contest for AIADMK in ward 38.
Sharmila, a candidate with a Ph.D. in Journalism has been announced as the Mayor Candidate of AIADMK in Coimbatore.
