Based on the information received on smuggling sedatives through the bus to Kerala via Coimbatore, the police raided and arrested a student for carrying 8-grams of MDMA drug
Coimbatore: The Walayar Police arrested an MBA student for attempting to sneak drugs illegally into Kerala from Bengaluru via Coimbatore.
The Kerala Police Commissioner Nasser received a tip-off that drugs were being smuggled from Bengaluru to Kerala via Walayar. Acting on his orders, the Walayar police inspector Muhammad Haris and excise officials during a vehicle check in the Walayar check post searched a tourist bus from Bengaluru to Kerala.
One of the passengers had in his possession 8-grams of MDMA drug. Investigations revealed that Ebin (26), an MBA student from Sera Nellore next to Kaniyanur in Ernakulam district, was smuggling the drug from Bengaluru to Kerala.
Following this, the 26-year-old has been arrested and subsequently the drug is seized from him.
Investigation is underway.
