The Additional DGP of Tamil Nadu Police, Law and Order, Thamaraikannan arrived in Coimbatore to inspect police security ahead of the polls.
Coimbatore: With the urban local body elections to be held in Tamil Nadu on February 19, the Additional DGP of Tamil Nadu Police, Law and Order, Thamaraikannan arrived in Coimbatore to inspect police security ahead of the polls.
Thereafter, he visited the office of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner where he was given the honour of a police parade, after which a consultative meeting with authorities was held. It was attended by senior police officers from eight districts in the western region of Coimbatore.
The ADGP advised officials on the security arrangements to be made for the election campaign, registration and counting of votes, as well as the security arrangements to be made at polling booths and the special arrangements to be made during the visit of important personalities during the election campaign.
The Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Pradip Kumar, Western Region IG Sudhakar, DIG Muthusamy, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police and many other senior police officials were present at the meeting.
