Valparai: The Adivasi tribes in the Valparai region celebrated the 73rd Republic Day by unfurled the national flag in the presence of school students and the public.
The celebrations were held at Nedungundu tribal village near Valparai in Coimbatore district. Primary school children, other students and the local public participated in the celebrations at the Long Panchayat Union Primary School.
Coimbatore District Forest Rights Member Thangasamy unfurled the national flag. Village Head Ratnasamy and General Secretary Ravi chaired the event, while the President of the Village Forest Committee, Ganesan offered sweets.
