Coimbatore: The devotees on their way to Palani on a padayatra on the occasion of ‘Thaipusam’ were distributed water packets, biscuits, and towels by the Muslim Women in the Ukkadam area on Monday night.

Communal harmony has always been the ultimate goal of human nature despite being divided by religion and caste. And the joy of sharing has always proved no ‘man-made’ notion is bigger than humanity. Illuminating the same, the Muslim women and their families came forward to offer water and food to the marching devotees for Thaipusam, from Coimbatore to Palani.

Hindus, Muslims, and Christians live on an equal scale in Coimbatore. In addition, one-third of North Indians also live here who migrated for various reasons such and have made Coimbatore home.

Hindu devotees from Coimbatore on the occasion of ‘Thaipusam’ who were on a pilgrimage last night were voluntarily approached by the Islamic women and their relatives living in Ukkadam and they offered water bottles, biscuits, and towels to all the devotees passing by and wished them well for their journey.
