Police arrested and interrogated Samjit on suspicion, it was revealed that Samjit had opened the shop at midnight and stole ten lakh rupees from the shop and pretended to open the shop this morning and say that the money was lost.
Coimbatore: Ukkadam police have arrested a shop employee who broke into a grocery store in the Coimbatore town hall area at midnight and stole Rs.10-lakh.
Aziz is from the state of Kerala and runs a grocery store in the Coimbatore Town hall area. Samjit, a young man from Kerala, works in his shop. Samjit, who was staying in Ukkadam area, closed the shop last night and went to his room. The young man who came to the shop this morning informed Aziz that the money kept in the shop was stolen.
Aziz was shocked to hear this and informed the Ukkadam police. The police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation.
Samjit took the sticker stuck to the CCTV camera and tried to hide it. When the police arrested and interrogated Samjit on suspicion, it was revealed that Samjit had opened the shop at midnight, stole ten lakh rupees from the shop, pretended to open the shop this morning and say that the money was lost.
Following this, the police arrested Samjit and confiscated ten lakh rupees which was kept in the room. Police are now investigating Samjit.
