Nilgiris: The Nilgiris Mountain rail services that were halted due to landslides caused by incessant rains resumed operation on Wednesday and the tourists were elated to travel in the train after a considerable break.

The century-old rail traffic between Nilgiris district and Mettupalayam was affected due to the northeast monsoon. Tourists were disappointed as rail traffic was halted due to landslides caused by heavy rains in various parts and the tracks were invaded by huge rocks between Mettupalayam and Udhagai such as Kallar, Adderley etc,.
