Godwin, 29, son of Gipson of Meenakshi Amman Nagar area next to Ondipudur passed away after he fell into a lake accidentally.
Godwin, who had already been suffering from shortness of breath since childhood tested positive for covid last May, due to which Godwin developed a clot in the vein leading to the brain and was being treated at Coimbatore government hospital. Godwin had a mild stroke.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Godwin who was on his way to Ukkadam Valankulam last night along with his wife Velankanni on a two-wheeler suffered sudden dizziness and got out of the vehicle. While he was leaning on a wall for support, Godwin suddenly stumbled and fell into the lake.
The public rescued Godwin upon Velankanni’s cry for help and rushed him to the GH. However, Godwin succumbed on his way to the hospital. The racecourse police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
