DGP slandered: Petition seeking action against BJP leader Annamalai

BJP state president Annamalai had criticized the DGP for commenting that the Tamil Nadu police was not under his control and that the DGP was only focused to ride bicycles and take selfies.


Coimbatore: A complaint has been lodged with the Commissioner of Police on behalf of the Thesiya Munnetra Kazhagam seeking action against BJP state president Annamalai for making defamatory remarks about the Tamil Nadu DGP.

Sivakumar, the leader of the Thesiya Munnetra Kazhagam lodged a complaint at the Chennai Police Commissioner's Office yesterday.

In his complaint, he was stated that, "Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai was interviewed at the party's headquarters in Chennai. BJP state leader Annamalai's criticism that the DGP who said that police is not under the control of the DGP and that the DGP was focused only to ride bicycles and take selfies is reprehensible. Therefore, legal action must be taken."
