Valparai: The locals in Valparai are panic-stricken as four wild elephants rampage over the plantations and houses in the estate areas.



The movement of wild elephants has been ever-increasing in Valparai and the four wild elephants that invaded the residential areas in Chinnakallar Estate under the Tamilnadu Tea Plantation Corporation on Sunday night, rampaged the banana plantations, houses and food crops on the plantations.The jumbos rampaged the house of Rajan-Prema and shattered the windows but the inmates managed to escape through the backdoor to the neighbour’s house. 

Locals in the area have demanded protection from the Forest Department due to the increasing menace of wild elephant rampages in the area.
