Pollachi govt teacher from Kerala infected with Covid; two students infected. School closed for sanitation.

Mucus samples were collected from the students in the class and sent for testing. Of these, one student in class 7 and 2 students in class 10 were confirmed to be infected.



Coimbatore: Due to the reduction in the corona virus cases in Tamil Nadu, schools from 1st to 12th class have been opened and are functioning. Meanwhile, corona virus testing is being carried out on a rotational basis for students in schools. A teacher from Kerala working at Puravipalayam Government High School near Pollachi was affected by corona virus.

Mucus samples were collected from the students in the class and sent for testing. Of these, one student in class 7 and 2 students in class 10 were confirmed to be infected. District Education Officer Rajasekaran inspected the school. This was followed by spraying disinfectants in classrooms and on school premises.



Schools were given a holiday for two days and this has been followed by testing for teachers and 240 students. The next step would be taken after the test results came out. Similarly, a 9-year-old schoolboy in Valasupalayam village under J. Krishnapuram panchayat in Sultanpet Union fell victim to dengue fever.

Following this, he was admitted to the Children's Hospital in Singanallur, Coimbatore for treatment. A medical camp was conducted at Valasupalayam under the leadership of Dr. Krishnaprabu on the orders of Dr. Vanitha, Regional Medical Officer, Sultanpet. Also, mosquito repellent was sprayed all over the village.
