Wild elephants have started entering from Kerala forest towards various estates along the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border in Valparai. The people of the estate area have demanded that the top officials of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve Forest Department take action.
Coimbatore: Herds of wild elephants have started entering from Kerala forest towards various estates along the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border in Valparai. Already, wild elephants have entered and continue to wreak havoc on various estate areas.
A herd of wild elephants has started trespassing into the Valparai area again. The commotion was sparked by the simultaneous influx of more than 30 wild elephants into the tea estate area of the Muthumudi Estate near Valparai. The herd of elephants split into small herds and entered various estate areas.
Wild elephants roam most of the estate areas in Valparai. Therefore, wild elephants are more likely to cause damage. The people of the estate area have demanded that the top officials of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve Forest Department should take action by hiring additional forest personnel to fully monitor the movement of wild elephants.
