Hindu places of worship and Hindus are being attacked in many countries, including Bangladesh

Puthiya Tamilagam party leader Dr. Krishnasamy said the attack on Hindu places of worship in Bangladesh is worrying and reprehensible. He also said that the Puthiya Tamilagam Party would hold a joint protest on the 27th, urging the UN to intervene in the dispute.


Coimbatore: Puthiya Tamilagam party leader Dr. Krishnasamy held a press conference today at his residence in the Kuniyamuthur here.

According to Puthiya Tamilagam party leader Dr. Krishnasami there were attacks on Hindu places of worship and Hindus in many countries, including in Bangladesh.



He said attacks on Hindus were on the rise, especially in Bangladesh. Bangladesh was part of India until 1947. He said that after 1971, it seceded from Pakistan and became a separate country. Attacks and displacement of Hindus have continued in Bangladesh for more than 60 years. He said the number of Hindus, which was 28 per cent, has now dropped to 8 per cent. He said the attack on Hindu places of worship there was worrying and reprehensible. He also said that the Puthiya Tamilagam Party would hold a joint protest on the 27th, urging the UN to intervene in the dispute.

Speaking on international politics, Dr. Krishnasamy was asked about the activities of the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government and the results of the local government elections. Dr. Krishnasamy who refused to answer them and said the Bangladesh issue was important and related to human rights. He also said that the Tamil Nadu media did not give the importance as given by the north Indian media to this issue.
