Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Shekhar Kumar Niraj inspects the medical status of the tiger that was captured in Valparai on 28th

Chief Forest Officer of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve ordered the Forest Department to relocate the tiger, stating that the wild cat is causing human-animal conflict. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Shekhar Kumar Niraj arranged for the relocation of the tiger from the Valparai Wildlife Sanctuary to the Manampalli Wildlife Sanctuary.

Coimbatore: The people of the Valparai were cautioned by the forest department that a tiger was roaming in the Valparai Mudis residential area in Coimbatore district on the 28th.

Following the information, the forest department led by Manampalli Forest Officer Manikandan rushed to the spot and confirmed the presence of the tiger in the area while on patrol.

Based on the order of the Director of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve, the forest department captured the tiger in a residential area.

The forest department also confirmed that the tiger was in a very tired condition and could not move from there as the thorns of the porcupine had pierced its body during the fight with the porcupine.

The tiger was then taken to the Human-Animal Conflict Prevention Office in the Valparai Wildlife Sanctuary for medical treatment by veterinarians. However, the Chief Forest Officer of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve ordered the Forest Department to relocate the tiger, stating man-animal conflict. On the orders of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Shekhar Kumar Niraj, the Forest Department arranged for the relocation of the tiger in the Valparai Wildlife Sanctuary to the Manampalli Wildlife Sanctuary.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Shekhar Kumar Niraj visited the Manampalli area on Sunday to inspect the tiger's medical condition.

He said the tiger was ‘very active’ and is monitored by a team of medical experts and forest experts.
