The city police while on patrol in the city, arrested two persons, including a woman from RS Puram and a man from Selvapuram who had in their possession weed reportedly for sale.
Coimbatore: In individual incidents, the rural police on Thursday arrested two people, including a woman, and have seized a total of 300 grams of weed from the duo.
The Selvapuram Police team, led by Sub-Inspector Silambarasan were patrolling the area. Upon suspicion, the officers stopped and questioned a youth on NSK road. The youth identified as Yuvaraj (26) also known as Yuva is the son of Radhakrishnan of the same area. Yuvaraj had in his possession, 100 grams of weed. The cops seized the banned substance and arrested him.
Similarly, in another incident, the RS Puram police while on a patrol led by Sub-Inspector Anbumani caught hold of a woman in Pasuvannan Street. A thorough search, of the woman revealed that she was carried 200 grams of the banned weed. She is Shakila, (38), wife of Muhammad Ali, from Anna Nagar, K. K. Pudur. The weed was confiscated and she was arrested. The youth and the woman had the banned weed, which was reportedly for sale.
The police lodged these two people in prison.
