Coimbatore: The city police arrested two persons, a member of the transgender community and a man for robbing a young man in Gandhipuram.
Vinayagamurthy, (29) of R.S.Puram, Anbagam street is an I.T. professional and was headed back home after work last night. A young man demanded Vinayagamurthy to drop him off at VOC grounds.Vinayagamurthy offered to help and dropped him near the VOC grounds.
A man was waiting at the reported scene of crime. The I.T. professional dropped the man at the location. The duo caught Vinayagmurthy off guard. Vinayagamurthy lodged a complaint at the Race Course Police Station. The police registered a case and arrested the two persons. The accused were identified as Sulthan alias Ujit Ali (29) of Podanur and his wife Kirtana alias Ramesh 28. They were produced at the court and are imprisoned.
