A legal awareness camp was held at Kurangumudi Estate under the leadership of Advocate Viswanathan and legal volunteer Suresh.
Coimbatore:Under the guidance of the Supreme Court of India and Judge Kavitha of Valparai Court, a legal awareness camp is scheduled to be held at 45 places in Valparai, Coimbatore.
As part of this, a curtain raise for the legal awareness camp was held at Kurangumudi Estate under the leadership of Advocate Viswanathan. Legal volunteer Suresh also helped in organising the camp.
Speaking at the meeting, Advocate Viswanathan said that the public should not be ignorant of the law and even those from weaker sections of the society must be aware of their legal right and the legal procedures. Participants were made aware of the marriage ban law, the women's protection law and advised that women should not be left alone for their own security.
Sexual harassment of girls is on the rise. As a measure to keep our girls safe, the speaker suggested implementing various aspects like sending girl children safely to school and college and advising them to refrain from talking to strangers.
