Two groups, of four people involved in a fight, attacked each other over an extra-marital affair issue, in which one of them threatened the opposite group holding a gun.
Coimbatore: The city police arrested four people in Annur over a dispute relate to an extra-marital affair.
Karthi, (28) is the son of Karuppasami, (48) belongs to Pogalur next to Annur, and the latter works as a carpenter. Karthi was involved in an illicit affair with a 32-year-old woman of the same region. Karuppasami had issues with Velliangiri, of the same area over the illicit affair. There were occasional fights between the two groups.
During one such dispute, on the 10th of October, Velliangiri was attacked by Karthi who hit him on the head with a rock. In a counter-attack, Velliangiri’s son, Sathish Kumar hit Karthi. In a fit of rage, Sathish Kumar threatened to kill Karthi and his father Karuppasami with a gun.
Karuppuswamy and Karthi lodged a complaint with the Annur police. Similarly, Vellaiyagiri also lodged a complaint with the police. Police registered a case based on a bilateral complaint and arrested Karuppuswamy and three others in the context of the complaint.
