Discarded meat waste, dead dogs, litter poses risk of infection in 74 ward in Coimbatore

The stench of meat waste, dead dogs and rubbish dumped in the area behind GM Nagar Fort Pudur, 74 ward, Coimbatore Singai Assembly constituency has left the area stinking. The people of the area lament that the situation has not changed despite the regime change. The public is annoyed that the authorities concerned are yet to take appropriate action on this issue.


Coimbatore: Against the backdrop of fear of spread of the corona virus, the residents and commercial establishments of ward 74 have to deal with a problem of a different kind.



This ward welcomes visitors with the stench of meat waste, sight of dead dogs and rubbish that is dumped almost everywhere. This is how the vicinity behind GM Nagar Fort Pudur is. This is, in a nutshell, the best way to describe ward 74 of the Coimbatore Singai Assembly constituency.



With the lack of garbage bins, there is no proper mechanism for garbage disposal. The situation sadly has remained unchanged for several months.



The area has attracts mosquitoes which in turn pose a high risk of mosquito borne disease, causing inconvenience to both children and adults, especially the elderly.
