Heavy rain in Valparai Athirapally waterfalls; tourists not allowed to travel

A ban has been imposed for the tourists to enter the falls as there has been increased water flooding


Valparai: Valparai has been receiving heavy rainfall for two days, increasing the water flow into rivers. This has caused heavy flooding in Athirapally falls.



The Athirapally falls, located on the way from Valparai to Chalakudy in Kerala is flooded as there were rains for two days in Valparai. The traffic to Valparai through Athirapalli has been stopped, highly affecting the people.



The waterfall is well known through the Tamil movie ‘Punnagai Mannan’. Tourists from all over the world visit the falls.



The tourists are prohibited from visiting the place due to the floods.
