5 people jailed for 10 years each and 55 lakh fine levied in Emu chicken fraud case: Coimbatore TANFIT Court Judgment

Judge Ravi sentenced Muthukrishnan, Kandasamy, Perumalraj, Ashok Kumar and Saravanan to 10 years imprisonment each for defrauding the public. He also fined them Rs 55 lakh at the rate of Rs 10 lakh each. The judge issued an arrest warrant to Muthukrishnan as he did not appear in court.


Coimbatore: A Coimbatore court has sentenced five people from Tirupur to 10 years in prison each in an Emu chicken scam case.

Tirupur District Q. Muthukrishnan, 53, of Chettipalayam, Kandasamy, 51, of Kavalan Coffee Estate, Perumalraj, 54, of Angeri Estate, Puthur Ashok Kumar, 33, of Avinashi Chennimalai, and Saravanan, 47, of RK Kavundanpudur were arrested in 2012 at the Police Coffee Estate in

The case was heard in the Tamil Nadu Investor Welfare Protection Special Court in Coimbatore. Judge Ravi sentenced Muthukrishnan, Kandasamy, Perumalraj, Ashok Kumar and Saravanan to 10 years imprisonment each for defrauding the public. He also fined them Rs 55 lakh at the rate of Rs 10 lakh each.

The judge issued an arrest warrant to Muthukrishnan as he did not appear in court. Prosecutor Manikkaraj Ajaraki appeared for the government in the case. The judge also ordered the victims to pay a fine of Rs 55 lakh.
