Coimbatore: The TNPID in Coimbatore sentenced country chicken farm owners from Erode with 10 year jail and a penalty of 12 lakhs.
Prakash, 39, Mahesh, 37, sons of Murugesan, belong to the Karumandichellipalayam of Perundurai, Erode. The duo launched a country chicken farm in Somanur, Coimbatore in the year 2011, with attractive schemes.
Rajan of Coimbatore and 16 others who had invested in the farm lodged a complaint with the EOW, Economic Offenses Wing when they realized that they were defrauded. A total of 40 lakhs and 50 thousand were abducted from the investors. Cases were registered and hearings were held in the TNPID, Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors Court. The case was held in two parts where Prakash was sentenced with 10-year jail during April 1st, 2021.
Mahesh who was hiding was recently arrested and judge A.S. Ravi sentenced him to 10-year imprisonment and a penalty of 12 lakh on Friday. However, the other accused, Prakash is still in hiding, for which the court has issued an arrest warrant. Public Prosecutor S.Manikaraj appeared for the case.
