Resolutions were passed in the grama sabha meetings that the people should follow the rules prescribed by the Tamil Nadu government to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Similarly, Revenue Department officials including Kinathukadavu Tahsildhar Sasirekha attended the village council meetings held in Kurunallipalayam and Govindanur villages.

Coimbatore: In Tamil Nadu, grama sabha meetings have not been held for the last two years due to coronavirus infection.

As the spread of coronavirus infection has started to decrease in Tamil Nadu, relaxations have been announced with various restrictions. Thus, two years later, the Tamil Nadu government gave permission to hold grama sabhameetings today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.

Accordingly a Grama Sabha Council meeting was held today in 33 Grama Panchayats in Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore District under the chairmanship of the respective Panchayat Council Chairman. As the by-election is being held in No. 10 Muttur Panchayat, no Grama sabha meeting was held in that panchayat.

Ward Councillors and villagers attended the Grama Sabha meeting held in Gothawadi Panchayat under the chairmanship of Panchayat Council Chairman Rathinasamy.

The villagers demanded road facilities and water facilities at the village council meeting. Following this, resolutions were passed in the grama sabha meetings that the people should follow the rules prescribed by the Tamil Nadu government to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Similarly, Revenue Department officials including Kinathukadavu Tahsildhar Sasirekha attended the village council meetings held in Kurunallipalayam and Govindanur villages.
