From a base repair center to now servicing 100 Dornier Aircraft, a major milestone was achieved in a short span.
Coimbatore:100 Dornier Aircraft were successfully serviced from Sulur Airforce station, and an event held appreciating the feat.
The servicing began in the year 200 as a Base Repair Depot and the Airforce station gradually increased its number of aircraft serviced and became a Higher Order Servicing in a short span.
The Sulur Airforce Station is the backbone of transport & communication duties of the Service. The increase in servicing speed allowed a greater fleet availability for IAF.
The event was held at the Air Force Station, Sulur on Friday and was presided over by Air Vice Marshal CR Mohan, Vishist Seva Medal, Air Officer Engineering Services from Headquarters Maintenance Command in the presence of dignitaries from the HAL and other aircraft operating units. Veterans who were part of the first aircraft's servicing also graced the momentous occasion.
The Operating Crew by Air Commodore PK Sreekumar Vishist Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding of the Base Repair Depot and his Servicing team from the Depot received keys and logbooks of Aircrafts.
