Coimbatore Airport Management to put up wall posters to create awareness on drone usage in aiport vicinity

Wall posters will be put on airport perimeter walls to create awareness among people on drone and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) usage.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Airport management has decided to put up wall posters on airport perimeter walls to create awareness among people on drone and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) usage.

According to a press release issued by Coimbatore Airport, "A joint inspection on security measures at Coimbatore international airport was carried out by Kalyanaraman, Regional Director, Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) Chennai. Pawan Kumar, Deputy Commandant, CISF, Coimbatore airport and S. Senthil Valavan, Coimbatore Airport Director.



During the inspection, the panel inspected the cargo facilities, construction sites inside airport operational area, perimeter area and security operations control centre (SOCC). The Regional Director, BCAS who was satisfied with the overall security arrangements convened APSC (Airport Security Committee) meeting in which various stakeholders including m airline operator's, TN police, CISF, oil companies, Engg agencies, commercial contractors, different AAI agencies participated.

During the meet, RD BCAS, highlighted on giving publicity on rules and regulations regarding operation of drones, to the people living near the vicinity of airport. In a bid to create awareness, it was decided to put up wall posters on airport perimeter wall to educate people on drone , UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) usage".
